The current study examined how boys see themselves pertaining to these negative stereotypes (e.g. boys think of themselves as academically underachievers in comparisons to girls) and how believing these stereotypes can become true because this is what they believe it is expected of them (e.g. children believing that adults support this negative stereotype).
